Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Baleno and Swift CNG AMT Prices Revealed

A couple of days ago Maruti Suzuki launched its Auto Green Mission, which included addition of S-CNG automatic variants to its three key models. The models - Dzire, Baleno and Swift, now get superior mileage, but available at different initial prices. Swift CNG starts from Rs. 7,92,400, Rs. 8,32,400 for Baleno and Rs. 8,53,100 for Dzire.

Now, the manufacturer has officially announced the detailed price list of each model. This launch marks the expansion of factory-fitted dual-fuel automatic choices across its popular lineup.

Mechanical Specifications and Features

For these Maruti Suzuki cars, all three models feature Z12E 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine, producing 69 bhp and 102 Nm of torque in CNG mode. The vehicles feature re-engineered suspensions to manage the added cylinder weight, along with a dedicated fuel switch and CNG level gauge. These AMT versions command a Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 40,000 premium over their corresponding manual CNG counterparts.

The introduction of CNG AMT technology directly challenges Tata Motors authority in the market. It previously held an exclusive presence in the automatic CNG segment with models like the Tiago and Tigor. Maruti Suzuki move may shift dynamics, by targeting urban commuters seeking both high mileage and traffic convenience. Just like Tata’s twin cylinder arrangement which preserves boot space, Maruti attempted to retain a single large cylinder inside the boot.

We anticipate that rivals like Toyota or Hyundai may accelerate dual-fuel automatic developments in the future. Toyota’s primary contender may be Glanza whereas Hyundai may work upon Grand i10 Nios, Aura or Exter to target affordable audiences.
