Honda Launches Flagship ZR-V Hybrid SUV in India at Rs. 47.99 Lakh

Honda Cars India has officially launched the Honda ZR-V e in India at a starting price of Rs. 47.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium SUV arrives as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) imported from Japan and becomes Honda's new flagship model in the country. Deliveries have started from July 25, 2026, and the company has confirmed that the first two batches allocated for India are already fully booked.

Globally, the Honda ZR-V has crossed 8 lakh cumulative sales since its debut in 2022. The SUV enters the premium SUV segment with a strong hybrid powertrain, premium features, and Honda's latest safety technologies.

What Does the Honda ZR-V Offer?

The Honda ZR-V is powered by a 2.0-litre e-strong hybrid system that combines a direct-injection Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with a dual-motor hybrid setup. It is paired with an e-CVT automatic transmission and produces 184 PS (181 bhp) and 315 Nm of torque.

Honda claims the SUV can deliver a fuel efficiency of 22.8 kmpl, while the 0-100 kmph sprint takes 7.9 seconds. Depending on driving conditions, the hybrid system automatically switches between Electric Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive modes for better efficiency and performance.

Exterior Design

The Honda ZR-V gets a premium and sporty design with full-LED lighting, stylish alloy wheels, and bold exterior detailing. Buyers can also choose from four exterior colour options.

The SUV also gets Honda's Honda SENSING ADAS suite along with several advanced safety features.

Warranty, Rivals & Availability

Honda is offering the ZR-V with a 3-year unlimited kilometre standard warranty and 3 years of complimentary roadside assistance. Customers can also choose an extended warranty of up to 7 years. The hybrid battery is covered for 8 years or 1.6 lakh km, while hybrid system components come with a 5-year or 1 lakh km warranty.

At its introductory price of Rs. 47.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Honda ZR-V competes with premium SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and Jeep Meridian. However, its strong hybrid powertrain and high fuel efficiency help it stand out in the segment.
