Hyundai August 2026 Sales: Creta Leads as Exter, Venue Drive 23.6% Growth

Hyundai Motor India recorded 54,396 units in domestic sales in August 2026, up 23.62%year-on-year (YoY) from 44,011 units sold in August 2025. However, monthly sales remained almost flat, with volumes rising just 0.34% from 54,210 units in July 2026.

The Hyundai Creta remained the company’s best-selling model in August. Meanwhile, Venue, Exter, i10 NIOS and i20 also posted strong YoY growth. Exter also recorded the highest YoY growth among Hyundai’s major volume models at 61.17%.

Hyundai Sales Breakup August 2026

Creta led Hyundai’s sales chart with 16,288 units, up 2.29% from 15,924 units in August 2025. However, its sales fell 9.95% compared with July. Despite this monthly decline, Creta contributed 29.94% to Hyundai’s total domestic sales.

The Hyundai Venue followed with 11,365 units, recording 40.15% YoY growth. Moreover, its monthly sales increased 2.43%. Hyundai recently added an OTA update to the new Venue, which enables the remote engine immobiliser feature.

The Hyundai Exter delivered another strong performance with 8,157 units. Sales grew 61.17% YoY and 19.78% MoM. As a result, Exter remained one of the biggest contributors to Hyundai’s overall growth.

Aura, i10 NIOS and i20 Post Strong Growth

The Hyundai Aura recorded 6,685 units in August, up 25.28% YoY and 14.92% MoM. Similarly, i10 NIOS sales reached 5,342 units, showing 36.69% YoY and 31.74% MoM growth.

The Hyundai i20 also performed well yearly, with 5,165 units sold. Its sales increased 42.13% YoY. However, i20 volumes dropped 23.35% compared with July.

Together, Creta, Venue, Exter, Aura, i10 NIOS and i20 made up almost all of Hyundai’s domestic sales in August. Therefore, these six models continued to drive the company’s passenger vehicle volumes.

Hyundai Sales August 2026 vs July 2026

Monthly, Hyundai’s total domestic sales stood at 54,396 units, compared with 54,210 units in July. This resulted in a marginal 0.34% growth.

Perhaps the biggest monthly gains came from i10 NIOS and Exter, which grew 31.74% and 19.78%, respectively. Aura also posted a healthy 14.92% increase. However, Creta and i20 saw monthly declines.

Alcazar, Verna and IONIQ 5 Sales

At the lower end of Hyundai’s sales chart, Alcazar recorded 856 units, down 27.89% YoY and 0.70% MoM. Verna sales stood at 529 units, declining 31.39% YoY and 28.22% MoM.

In addition, the IONIQ 5 recorded only 9 units in August, compared with 14 units a year ago. The Tucson reported zero domestic sales during the month, against 57 units in August 2025.

Two New Hyundai SUVs Coming Soon

Hyundai is also preparing to add two new SUVs to its India portfolio in the current financial year. Both models have appeared in testing on Indian roads.

The first upcoming model could be a new midsize SUV based on the international-spec Hyundai Bayon. It could sit alongside the Venue and Creta, although Hyundai has not yet confirmed its final name, specifications or positioning for India.

In addition, Hyundai is working on a new sub-4-metre electric SUV for India. The model is expected to use local production and sit below the Creta Electric. Therefore, it could help Hyundai reach more buyers in the growing electric SUV segment.

Overall, Hyundai’s August sales show strong yearly growth, led mainly by its SUV and small-car range. However, the almost flat monthly performance highlights a mixed trend across individual models, with Exter, i10 NIOS and Aura gaining strongly while Creta and i20 saw monthly declines.
