The iVT variant will feature additional technologies intended to improve acceleration response and driver control.
- Dash Boost Mode: Provides a quicker power response when additional acceleration is needed, particularly during overtaking.
- Sporty Drive Tech: Aims to make acceleration feel more engaging.
- Paddle shifters: Allow drivers to control transmission response using steering-mounted controls.
- Three drive modes: Eco prioritises fuel efficiency, Normal balances performance and efficiency, while Sport offers a more responsive driving setup.
These features will be available according to the variant and transmission configuration.
Hyundai BAYON Follows the "Intelligence That Moves" Philosophy
Hyundai is extending its “Intelligence That Moves” philosophy to the BAYON’s driving experience, focusing on how the vehicle responds to different driving situations. The combination of transmission technology, selectable drive modes and steering-mounted controls is intended to give drivers greater control during daily commutes and highway travel.
Company Statement on Driving Performance
Commenting on the Hyundai BAYON’s driving performance, Mr. Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited, said:
“At Hyundai, we believe performance is not defined solely by power figures, but by how naturally and confidently a vehicle responds to the driver in everyday situations. With Hyundai BAYON, we have combined our trusted four-cylinder 1.5L MPi petrol engine with intelligent driving technologies to deliver a driving experience that feels smooth, responsive and engaging across a variety of road conditions.”
He also added that the Intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT), Dash Boost Mode, Sporty Drive Tech and selectable drive modes work together to improve responsiveness and driver confidence. He said the BAYON follows Hyundai’s ‘Intelligence That Moves’ philosophy, offering a refined and intuitive driving experience suited to the changing expectations of Indian customers.
Launch Date, Bookings and Deliveries
The Hyundai BAYON will launch in India on October 26, 2026. Bookings are open for Rs. 11,000 through Hyundai’s official website and authorised dealerships. Deliveries are scheduled to begin during the festive season, while detailed delivery timelines will be communicated at launch.
Car Junction Insights
The Hyundai BAYON’s appeal will depend on how its engine, transmission options and driving technologies are packaged across its variants. The iVT version could attract buyers who want an automatic SUV with additional acceleration controls, while the manual option may suit those who prefer a more direct driving experience. Pricing, equipment levels and the overall ownership proposition will be key factors in determining its competitiveness in the Indian market.
