Tata Punch EV Prices Hiked By Up To Rs 20,000

Tata Motors has increased the prices of the Punch EV in India by Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. Following the latest revision, the electric SUV is now priced between Rs 9.79 lakh and Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The price hike affects all six variants of the Punch EV, while there are no changes to its battery packs, features or specifications.

Tata Punch EV Gets New Prices

The Punch EV was facelifted in February 2026, with prices starting at Rs 9.69 lakh. It is offered with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery pack options. The 30 kWh versions have received a Rs 10,000 price increase, while the 40 kWh versions are now Rs 20,000 more expensive.

The Punch EV is also available under Tata's BaaS programme, where the upfront price starts at Rs 6.49 lakh. Customers pay a battery EMI of Rs 2.6 per km under this option. 

Charging And Tata EV Sales

Both battery versions support four levels of regenerative braking and can be charged from 20% to 80% in around 26 minutes using a 65 kW DC fast charger. The Punch EV also supports 3.3 kW and 7.2 kW AC charging options.

Tata Motors sold 13,158 electric cars in August 2026, giving it around a 43% share of India's electric passenger vehicle market. The Punch EV remains one of the key models in Tata's EV portfolio and competes with the XUV 3XO EV, Citroen eC3, MG Comet EV and MG Windsor EV.

Car Junction Insights

The latest price hike makes the Punch EV slightly more expensive, but the entry-level model still remains below the Rs 10 lakh mark. The Rs 10,000 increase on the 30 kWh variants is relatively lower, while the Rs 20,000 hike on the 40 kWh versions will have a bigger impact on buyers considering higher variants.

There are no changes to the Punch EV's features or battery options with this revision. The price increase is likely linked to higher manufacturing costs, while the BaaS option continues to give buyers a lower upfront purchase price.
