Tata Aeris Teased Once Again Ahead Of September 25 Launch

Tata Motors has released a new teaser of the upcoming Aeris ahead of its launch in India on September 25, 2026. The new sub-4-metre sedan will replace the Tigor in Tata’s lineup and has now been previewed through several exterior design details. The latest teaser shows the car’s front and rear lighting elements, alloy wheels and parts of its exterior styling.

The Aeris is expected to retain the Tigor’s petrol and CNG powertrain options, while receiving a new design and an updated cabin. The company is also expected to offer the sedan in a new violet exterior shade, adding another visual change over the outgoing model.

Tata Aeris Teaser Reveals Exterior Details

The latest teaser provides a closer look at the Aeris’ lighting setup and wheel design. The sedan gets sleek twin-barrel headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, while the rear features slim lighting elements. The teaser also shows blacked-out alloy wheels with a new design compared to the outgoing Tigor.

Tata has also previewed the Aeris in a violet exterior shade. The front-end design features a thick gloss-black element, while the car gets black cladding around the wheel arches. Earlier teaser footage also revealed a ducktail-style element on the boot lid, adding to the sedan’s coupe-like profile.

Cabin Expected To Get New Features

The Aeris is expected to receive a light-coloured cabin theme, with reports suggesting that a grey interior could also be offered. The cabin is likely to feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster.

Other expected features include a redesigned steering wheel, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, Type-C ports, rear AC vents and a 360-degree camera. Tata is also expected to offer the sedan with a more premium feature list than the outgoing Tigor.

1.2-Litre Petrol Engine To Continue

The Tata Aeris is expected to retain the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine. It is likely to be paired with 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes, continuing the powertrain options available with Tata’s current compact models.

The sedan is also expected to get a CNG option with the same 1.2-litre engine. The CNG version could also be offered with both manual and AMT transmissions, giving buyers two gearbox choices across the petrol and CNG versions. However, the brand is yet to officially confirm the final powertrain specifications for the Aeris.

Launch Date And Expected Positioning

Tata will officially launch the Aeris in India on September 25, 2026. The new sedan is expected to command a premium over the Tiago hatchback, with reports suggesting that its variant lineup could extend up to the Accomplished trim.

The Aeris will replace the Tigor and continue Tata’s presence in the sub-4-metre sedan segment. It will take on established rivals including the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze.
