Renault Triber Turbo to Launch Tomorrow in India

Renault is all set to announce the price of the new Triber turbo petrol variants in India tomorrow. This will be the first time the Triber gets a turbo petrol engine. With this new engine, Renault aims to give buyers a more powerful option in its compact MPV range.

Engine and Gearbox Details

The new Renault Triber turbo will use a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. It produces 99 bhp and 160 Nm of torque. In addition, Renault already uses this engine in the Kiger and the base variants of the Duster.

The engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic option. However, Renault has not yet confirmed which Triber variants will get this engine.

The turbo petrol engine is expected to arrive with the higher-spec variants. Apart from the new engine, Renault may keep the design, features and dimensions of the Triber unchanged.

Expected Price and Future Plans

Renault could follow a pricing approach similar to the Kiger. The turbo-petrol Kiger variants cost around ₹1 lakh more than their naturally aspirated versions. Therefore, the Triber turbo could also see a price difference of around ₹1 lakh or less.

In addition, the new engine could make the Triber more appealing to buyers who want better performance from a compact MPV. Renault may also bring a CNG-powered turbo-petrol version later, as test vehicles have been spotted on Indian roads.
