Renault Triber Turbo Petrol, CNG Variants: Everything We Know So Far

Table of Content
Renault launched the updated Triber in India on August 28, 2026, with its existing 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The MPV currently produces 72hp and 96Nm and is offered with manual and automated manual transmission options.
Now, Renault is preparing to expand the Triber range with a more powerful turbo-petrol engine and a factory-fitted CNG option. The turbo version is expected to arrive by the end of September, while the brand has not announced an exact launch date yet. Here are the key details reported so far about the upcoming powertrain options.
Renault Triber Turbo Petrol: What To Expect
The upcoming Renault Triber Turbo is expected to get the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine used in the Kiger. In the Kiger, this engine produces 100PS and 160Nm, which would give the Triber a significant output increase over its current 72hp and 96Nm naturally aspirated engine. Also, the extra torque should make the MPV more suitable for carrying multiple passengers.
The turbo engine is expected to come with a five-speed manual gearbox, while a CVT automatic could also be offered. Renault has also updated the Triber’s platform to support the new powertrain, with the revised design called the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP).
Renault Triber CNG Could Get Dual-Cylinder Setup
The brand is also expected to introduce a factory-fitted CNG version of the Triber with a dual-cylinder setup. The cylinders are expected to sit beneath the boot floor, allowing the MPV to retain more usable luggage space than a conventional CNG layout.
A test mule has been spotted carrying both Turbo and CNG badges, hinting at a possible turbo-CNG setup. This could make the upcoming Triber range more versatile, with the CNG system offering an additional fuel option alongside the new turbo-petrol powertrain.
Current Triber Already Gets An Aftermarket CNG Kit
The current Triber can also be equipped with a dealer-fitted CNG kit on manual variants. However, the upcoming version is expected to bring a factory-fitted system with changes made to the vehicle's platform and powertrain integration. Therefore, Renault is expected to offer both stronger petrol performance and a more integrated CNG option as part of the Triber's upcoming powertrain expansion.
Renault Triber Turbo, CNG Launch Timeline
The Renault Triber Turbo is expected to launch by the end of September 2026, followed by the factory-fitted CNG version around the same period. However, Renault has not announced the exact launch date for either version yet. The company is also yet to reveal their final prices, variants and complete powertrain details.
Our View On The Upcoming Triber
The upcoming turbo engine could address the performance gap of the current Triber, especially when carrying a full passenger load. The factory-fitted CNG option would also give buyers another fuel choice without relying on an aftermarket conversion. However, the final engine specifications, transmission options and launch date will need to be confirmed by Renault before the new versions arrive.
