Toyota hasn't tried to hide where the Rumion comes from, but it has made a genuine effort to give it its own face. Looking at Rumion Exterior, the front end is where most of the redesign work has gone and that's the smart move since it's what people notice first.
- The nose borrows a bit of visual language from the Innova Crysta, giving it a slightly more premium road presence than you'd expect from a rebadged MPV
- The grille looks close to the diesel Ertiga's unit and it wears a large Toyota logo front and center, which is really the whole point of paying extra for this badge
- The bumper design is reworked too, so it's not a straight copy-paste job up front.
- Alloy wheel designs are new for the Toyota Rumion Exterior, a small but noticeable touch that helps it stand apart in a parking lot
- Move to the side and the differences start thinning out and you'll spot a few tweaks but nothing that screams "different car"
- By the time you reach the rear, Toyota has basically given up trying to differentiate it visually, so badges are your only real clue that you're not looking at an Ertiga.
From inside Toyota Rumion drops any pretense of being its own product. The layout, the switchgear, even the beige interior color scheme are lifted straight from the Ertiga. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, because the underlying design was already sound.
