Toyota August Sales Reach 32,842 Units Amid 4.07% YoY Dip

Toyota Kirloskar Motor reported a mixed sales performance in August 2026, with total sales covering both domestic and export markets. The company continued to see demand across its diverse portfolio of SUVs, MPVs, sedans and premium models. Its lineup includes popular models such as the Innova Hycross, Fortuner, Hyryder and Glanza, catering to different segments of the Indian market. Toyota is also preparing for the upcoming festive season with further product updates. 

August Sales Performance Sees Mixed Results

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded lower sales in August 2026 compared with the same month last year. Domestic sales stood at 28,410 units, marking a 3.04% YoY decline from August 2025. Export volumes reached 4,432 units, registering a sharper 10.17% YoY decline. Together, both segments contributed to the company’s overall 4.07% YoY sales decline during the month.

Toyota Domestic Sales Decline 6.90% MoM

Toyota’s domestic sales were lower in August compared with July 2026, reflecting a month-on-month decline. The company recorded 28,410 units during August, while July sales stood at 30,516 units. The decline indicates softer domestic demand compared with the previous month.

Toyota’s YTD Performance Stays Positive

Despite the decline in August, Toyota's cumulative performance remained positive between January and August 2026. The company recorded 2,66,696 units during this period, compared with 2,41,733 units in the same period last year.

Domestic sales increased by 11.18%, while exports posted a smaller 1.67% growth. Overall, Toyota's cumulative sales were up 10.33% YoY, adding 24,963 units compared with the previous year.

Toyota Prepares for a Busy Festive Season

Toyota expects customer activity to improve during the upcoming festive season, which could support sales in the coming months. The company is also expected to update the Glanza following the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno update, continuing the product-sharing arrangement between the two manufacturers.

Toyota’s Indian portfolio includes models such as the Glanza, Hyryder, Innova Hycross, Fortuner, Camry and Vellfire. The company faces growing competition in hybrid and premium SUV segments as new models expand choices for buyers.
