Kia Syros EV Launched in India at Rs 13.49 Lakh

Kia India has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the launch of the all-electric Syros EV. Positioned as the brand's second locally produced electric vehicle following the Carens Clavis EV, the Syros EV brings segment-first range capability and versatile ownership options to Indian buyers.

Pricing, Battery Options and Performance

The Kia Syros EV arrives at an introductory starting price of Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base 42 kWh variant, scaling up to Rs 19.99 lakh for the flagship X-Line Extended Range (ER) model. Additionally, Kia offers a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership program that lowers the initial buy-in price to Rs 7.99 lakh. Deliveries across nationwide dealerships are scheduled to commence on July 30.

Buyers can choose between two lithium-ion battery configurations:

  • 42 kWh Standard Range: Produces 133 bhp and 255 Nm of torque, delivering an MIDC-certified range of 443 km.
  • 51.4 kWh Extended Range: Generates 169 bhp and 255 Nm of torque, achieving a segment-leading certified range of 526 km.

The Extended Range variant completes the 0–100 km/h sprint in 8.1 seconds. When plugged into a 100 kW DC fast charger, both battery packs can replenish from 10 to 80 percent capacity in 39 minutes.

Design, Cabin Tech, and Feature Highlights

Visually, the Syros EV distinguishes itself from its internal combustion engine counterpart with EV-specific cues. The front fascia features a closed-off Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube LED headlamps, Star Map lighting signatures, and aero-optimized alloy wheels. Functional exterior additions include flush-fitting door handles and a 16-litre front trunk (frunk).

Inside, the cabin is dominated by Kia's signature 30-inch Trinity display, which integrates the digital driver instrument cluster, central touchscreen infotainment system, and climate controls into a single panel.
