Maruti Brezza Gets 5 Star Bharat NCAP Crash Test Rating

Maruti Suzuki has achieved a major milestone ahead of the 2026 Brezza facelift launch. Bharat NCAP has awarded the compact SUV a 5 star safety rating. The crash test results were released a day before the Brezza's official launch. The tested model was the ZXI+ 1.5 litre 6AT variant. The safety ratings apply to all variants of the 2026 Maruti Brezza. This makes it one of the safest compact SUVs in its segment.

Strong Adult Occupant Protection

The Brezza scored 30.41 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection. It performed well in both frontal and side impact tests.

In the frontal offset crash test, the driver's head, neck, pelvis, thighs, and feet received good protection. The chest and tibiae were rated adequate. The front passenger also received good protection for most body regions. Only the tibiae received an adequate rating.

The Brezza achieved a perfect 16 out of 16 points in the side movable barrier test. It also received an "OK" verdict in the side pole impact test.

Excellent Child Safety Performance

The SUV secured 43 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection. It achieved full marks in both dynamic performance and child seat installation. The dynamic score stood at 24 out of 24 points. 

It also earned 12 out of 12 points for Child Restraint System installation. Both the 18 month and three year child dummies scored maximum points. Rearward facing child seats were used during testing. The Brezza lost six points in the vehicle assessment category. However, it still secured a five star child safety rating.

Safety Features Across All Variants

The tested ZXI+ variant came equipped with six airbags and Electronic Stability Control. These features are available across the tested range. Other safety equipment includes seat belt reminders for all seats. Front seat belt pretensioners and ISOFIX child seat anchorages are also included.

The 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift is scheduled for launch tomorrow. With its five star Bharat NCAP rating, the SUV enters the market with strong safety credentials.
