2026 Toyota Hilux Teased Again Ahead of India Debut

Toyota has released another teaser of the upcoming Hilux, hinting that the next-generation pickup truck could arrive in India soon. The latest teaser offers a closer look at the front and rear styling, revealing a more modern and rugged design while keeping most details under wraps. The updated Hilux is expected to bring cosmetic changes, a refreshed cabin, and additional technology, while continuing with its proven mechanical setup.

Toyota Hilux to Get Fresh Exterior and Upgraded Cabin

The teaser highlights a redesigned front fascia with a black hexagonal grille, slimmer LED headlamps, a revised bumper, and a skid plate. At the rear, the pickup features a redesigned tailgate with bold Toyota lettering and updated LED taillamps, giving it a more distinctive appearance. The side profile is expected to remain largely unchanged, although new alloy wheels could be part of the update.

Inside, the next-generation Hilux is likely to receive a redesigned dashboard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment unit is expected to support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while the cabin could also offer features such as a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, powered and ventilated front seats, six airbags, and ADAS.

Engine and Platform Expected to Remain Unchanged

Toyota is expected to retain the IMV ladder-frame platform for the new Hilux, continuing its body-on-frame construction. It is likely to have the 2.8-litre diesel engine that produces 201 bhp and up to 500 Nm of torque with the automatic transmission. The car is also expected to feature a low-range transfer case, while a dedicated physical switch for the rear differential lock makes off-road controls more convenient.
