2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 Launched in India at Rs 1.45 Crore
Google News

Mercedes-Benz has officially launched the 2026 AMG E 53 4Matic+ in India, introducing its performance-focused plug-in hybrid sedan to the market. Diverging from previous expectations, the model arrives with competitive introductory pricing and two distinct editions tailored for enthusiasts.
Pricing and Edition Breakdown
The standard 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 Performance Edition has been introduced at Rs 1.45 crore (ex-showroom). Alongside it, Mercedes-Benz launched a higher-spec AMG E 53 Racing Edition priced at Rs 1.48 crore.
This positioning undercuts earlier market estimates, placing the plug-in hybrid performance sedan in a unique bracket. The Racing Edition comes factory-equipped with the AMG Driver’s Package, which lifts the electronically limited top speed from 250 km/h to 280 km/h.
Performance Delivery and Charging Times
While the combined 585 hp and 750 Nm output remains central to its mechanical package, official launch specifications confirm the sprint from 0–100 km/h takes 4.0 seconds in standard trim.
Beyond its performance metrics, the launch details highlight practical ownership figures for the 21.2 kWh usable battery setup:
- DC Fast Charging (60 kW): 10 to 80 percent top-up in 20 minutes.
- AC Charging (11 kW): Full 0 to 100 percent charge in 2.25 hours.
With deliveries set to commence, the launch marks a major milestone for Mercedes-AMG's hybrid strategy in India, bringing high-end track capability alongside usable electric range.
