Skoda Octavia RS Returns To India, Limited To 50 Units

Mumbai, September 04, 2026: Skoda Auto India has brought the Octavia RS back to the Indian market following strong demand for the performance sedan’s first batch in 2025. The company has announced a second batch of just 50 units, priced at Rs. 56.69 lakh (ex-showroom), with deliveries scheduled to begin next week.

The latest Octavia RS is positioned as a limited-run performance sedan and comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, a 7-speed DSG gearbox and a range of performance-focused mechanical upgrades. Bookings for the second batch opened on August 18, when the model was showcased at Skoda Auto India’s third-anniversary event.

Octavia RS Gets 265 PS Engine And 250 Km/h Top Speed

The Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine producing 265 PS and 370 Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and sends power to the front wheels.

Sporty Exterior And Premium Cabin

The Octavia RS gets a sharper exterior with performance-focused styling, while its cabin combines sports-oriented design with premium comfort features. The sedan retains a spacious 600-litre boot, which can be expanded to 1,555 litres by folding the rear seats. It will be available in Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black.

The exterior and cabin get several RS-specific upgrades:

• Lighting: Full LED Matrix headlights and dynamic LED tail lamps.
• Wheels: 19-inch Elias alloy wheels with 225/40 R19 tyres.
• Dimensions: 4,709mm long, 1,829mm wide and 1,455mm tall.
• Seats: Suedia Leather upholstery with red stitching and powered sports seats.
• Comfort: Ambient lighting, Virtual Cockpit, three-zone climate control and wireless charging.
• Infotainment: 32.77cm touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity and Canton audio system.

Advanced Safety And Driver Assistance

The Octavia RS gets an extensive ADAS package comprising Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Assist and Intelligent Park Assist. Safety equipment includes 10 airbags, a 360-degree Area View camera, Head-Up Display, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and electronic driving stability systems.

Other features include an electrically operated boot with a virtual pedal and several Simply Clever functions, adding convenience alongside the performance-focused equipment.

Octavia RS Marks 30 Years Of The Octavia

The return of the Octavia RS coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Octavia and more than five decades of the RS badge. The RS name was first associated with Skoda’s 180 RS and 200 RS prototypes in 1974 before the 130 RS established its motorsport credentials, including its Rallye Monte-Carlo success in 1977.

Skoda introduced the RS badge on a production car for the first time with the Octavia RS in 2000. In India, the Octavia RS nameplate arrived in 2004, followed by performance-focused models such as the Laura RS, Octavia RS 230 and Octavia RS 245.

The second batch is priced at Rs. 56.69 lakh ex-showroom and is limited to 50 units across India. Alongside the performance sedan, Skoda Auto India is offering its ownership package with a 4-year/100,000km warranty, 4 years of complimentary Roadside Assistance and four labour-free services.
