Nissan Tekton Based on Renault Duster to Debut in India Tomorrow
Google News

Nissan India is set to unveil the all-new Tekton SUV on 9 July 2026. It is Nissan's second India launch this year and shares the CMF-B modular platform with the third-generation Renault Duster. However, Nissan has given the Tekton its own design, features, and positioning.
The Tekton will strengthen Nissan's presence in the midsize SUV segment. It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq, Tata Sierra, Maruti Victoris, Grand Vitara, Hyryder, and Honda Elevate.
What to Expect from the Nissan Tekton's Design and Cabin?
The Nissan Tekton is expected to feature a bold design with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and silver skid plates. The front profile will also include Tekton lettering on the bonnet and a red accent running across the fascia. At the rear, the SUV is likely to get newly designed alloy wheels, a shark-fin antenna, a rear wiper, and Tekton badging on the tailgate.
Inside, the Tekton will feature a large touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Other highlights could include a new three-spoke steering wheel, rotary controls, redesigned AC vents, and a height-adjustable driver's seat. The cabin may also feature a black theme with contrasting white inserts.
Nissan Tekton: Expected Engine Options
The Tekton is expected to be offered with 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine options at launch. These engines are likely to be available with multiple transmission choices, catering to different driving preferences.
A 1.8-litre turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain is also expected to join the lineup at a later stage. The SUV shares its CMF-B modular platform with the Renault Duster, although the two models are likely to follow different powertrain strategies.
Nissan to Differentiate the Tekton with Styling & Pricing
Nissan will position the Tekton as a value-focused midsize SUV with a wide range of variants. The company is likely to use competitive pricing to attract more buyers and strengthen its presence in the segment.
The Tekton draws design inspiration from the larger Nissan Patrol, giving it a bold and upright SUV appearance. This approach could help Nissan create a stronger appeal in the highly competitive midsize SUV market.
