Mini India has officially confirmed that the Countryman C will be launched in the country on 17 June. The SUV is expected to be priced between ₹58 lakh and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom). Pre-bookings are already open at authorised Mini dealerships across India. The new model will expand the Countryman range, joining the Countryman Electric and the high-performance Countryman JCW All4.
Key Highlights and Positioning in India
The Mini Countryman C will be the third variant in the Countryman range and the first to be locally assembled in India. With a length of 4.45 metres and a wheelbase of 2.69 metres, it remains Mini’s largest SUV. The model continues to carry the brand’s distinctive design language, including a revised grille, refreshed bumper styling, matrix LED tail lamps, and premium exterior detailing.
It will be offered in multiple colour options, including Chilli Red, British Racing Green, Nanuq White, Slate Blue, and Smokey Green. The SUV also features champagne accents, blacked-out ORVMs, and a contrasting black roof for a sportier appearance.
Engine and Driving Setup
The Countryman C is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 134bhp and 230Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine is closely related to the unit used in the BMW X1, tuned to deliver a balance of performance and efficiency.
Cabin Features and Market Rivals
Inside, the SUV offers a dual-tone cabin with sustainable materials and Mini’s signature circular central touchscreen. Key features include dual-zone climate control, a dual-pane sunroof, head-up display, paddle shifters, full-LED lighting, and a premium audio system. In the Indian market, the Countryman C will compete with the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
The Countryman C will also mark an important milestone for the brand, as it will be locally assembled at BMW’s manufacturing facility in Chennai. This local production strategy is expected to help the SUV achieve a more competitive price compared to fully imported versions. It is also likely to strengthen its position in the luxury compact SUV segment.
