Upcoming Kia Sorento Diesel DCT Arrives at Dealerships Ahead of Launch

Ahead of its official debut scheduled for September 4, 2026, the upcoming Kia Sorento 7-seater SUV has started arriving at dealership yards. The units came undisguised and the spy shots captured suggest many details of the upcoming Kia Car, especially about its Diesel DCT 7-seater one.

This Kia Car introduces the brand’s latest global design language to India, featuring new exterior styling, a modernized cabin and advanced powertrain options.

Exterior Styling and Interior Layout Spied

The all-new Sorento adopts Kia’s 'Opposites United' design philosophy, aligning visually with flagship models like the EV9 and Carnival. At the exterior’s front, the three-row SUV features vertical LED headlights paired with T-shaped star-map DRLs and a prominent front grille.

Inside, the cabin features dual integrated 12.3-inch curved screens housing the driver's display and infotainment system. The dashboard also includes updated touch-based controls, redesigned climate control vents, and premium interior upholstery across its three-row seating layout.

Powertrains and Market Positioning

The Sorento arriving at dealerships is powered by a 2.2-litre Smartstream turbo-diesel engine paired with an 8-speed wet Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). Kia will also offer a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol powertrain equipped with an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option at launch.

Locally assembled at Kia’s Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh, the upcoming Sorento will serve as the brand's flagship ICE and hybrid offering in India. Upon launch, it will compete directly against three-row 7-seater SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq.

Meanwhile, the Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift has also been spotted testing ahead of its expected launch in India.
