Defender OCTA Price in India: What You Get

Defender Octa (performance variant, off-road rocky terrain).webp

The Defender top model price in India goes up to ₹2.62 crore (ex-showroom) for the OCTA Black. The regular OCTA now comes in at ₹2.42 crore and both variants feature a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid engine that generates 635 hp. They are on top of the range because of the extra performance equipment and chassis modifications they get.

The Defender price in India also varies according to the equipment and technology offered across the range. The OCTA gets 6D Dynamics air suspension, OCTA-specific brakes, special drive modes and a wider, raised body, while the cabin adds performance seats, unique upholstery and OCTA-specific trim. These upgrades are designed to improve the Defender’s performance during high-speed off-road driving.

At ₹2.62 crore, the OCTA Black also lands the Defender a spot among India's most expensive cars, reflecting the extra performance hardware it carries.

How the September 2025 GST 2.0 Cut Changed Defender Prices?

The GST 2.0 reforms in September 2025 brought down the tax rates on the Land Rover Defender, leading to a drop in the Defender price in India. The price was cut by approximately ₹7 lakh, to ₹18.6 lakh, depending on the variant it is sold as. The Defender 110 2.0-litre petrol came with almost a ₹7 lakh cut, whereas the OCTA Edition One jumped the pack with the steepest price cut of ₹18.6 lakh. The new rates went into effect on September 22nd, 2025.

Defender Mileage - Full Breakdown by Engine

The Defender's best mileage comes with the 2.0-litre petrol and 3.0-litre diesel variants, which would be better suited for buyers looking to lower fuel consumption. Among them, the 3.0-litre diesel is the more fuel efficient, and also provides more pulling power for a large SUV. Actual mileage may vary from the advertised figures, however, particularly in city driving while accelerating rapidly, carrying heavy loads or on rough roads.

Defender Interior: What Do You Get Inside?

Interior (dashboard, infotainment screen, rear seats).webp

The Defender interior features exposed structural-styling elements, hard-wearing surfaces and higher variants include Windsor leather and upgraded trim. The X-Dynamic HSE receives 14-way heated and cooled front seats to offer more seating flexibility and adjustment and more cabin warmth, while the panoramic roof slides to let more light into the cabin. Navigation, media and connected functions are stored on its Pivi Pro touchscreen and can be updated via over-the-air software to enhance its capabilities without needing to visit the workshop.

The digital instrument cluster displays key driving information right in front of the driver's eyes for enhanced visibility. The performance seats, custom detailing for the OCTA and the custom upholstery add to the allure of being in a more performance-driven vehicle. To further elevate the quality and sportier interior, the OCTA Black can be styled in semi-aniline leather, Kvadrat upholstery or with carbon fibre trim.

Land Rover Defender: Features and technology

Features and Technology (ClearSight mirror, off-road terrain camera, surround view).webp

The Defender uses Matrix LED headlights with adaptive beams to improve visibility while reducing glare for oncoming traffic. This system adjusts the beam pattern according to conditions, helping the Defender maintain better illumination across different roads. Inside, its 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display presents navigation, media, vehicle information and active safety data in one place.

For off-road driving, the Land Rover Defender uses Terrain Response 2 to adjust vehicle settings according to the surface and changing terrain. The electronic air suspension can then raise the SUV for greater ground clearance and improved wheel articulation. Its 3D Surround Camera provides a 360-degree view, while Wade Sensing displays water depth during crossings up to 900 mm.

Defender 90 vs 110 vs 130: Which Body Style Should You Choose?

All 3 Models (90, 110, 130).webp

The Defender 90, 110 and 130 share the same family design, but their different body lengths and layouts give each one a distinct character. The biggest differences are in their size, number of doors, interior space and seating capacity.

  • Defender 90: The 90 is the shortest Defender and features a compact body and two-door design. Some options include an upgraded interior, bigger wheels, enhanced infotainment and improved levels of comfort.
  • Defender 110:The 110's four doors give better access to the rear seats and the longer body means there is more interior room than there is in the 90 model. The car's interior is more upscale; it's packed with the latest in driver-assist features, has premium audio and powerful engines.
  • Defender 130: The 130 is the longest version, and the extra length will give the rear-seat passengers more space. Up to eight passengers can be accommodated in the body in various configurations, with the higher variants adding to this body with further luxury, technology and comfort features.

With the Defender positioned between these options in terms of pricing, it offers a balance of everyday usability, luxury and all-terrain capability.
