MG Starlight 560 EV Spotted Testing in India
Google News

JSW-MG Motor India is rapidly expanding its local New Energy Vehicle lineup. The upcoming MG Starlight 560 all-electric SUV was recently captured on camera at a public charging station in Delhi. This fresh sighting heavily indicates that a multi-powertrain launch strategy is currently on the cards for the Indian market.
Key Design Elements and External Features
The spied test vehicle featured heavy camouflage layout but managed to reveal distinct design traits specific to the electric model. The overall styling highlights premium visual updates.
- Fascia Styling: The pure electric version gets a fully blanked-off front grille to distinguish it visually from standard hybrid variants.
- Lighting Elements: It features dual LED daytime running lights on either side coupled with sharp air curtains built directly into the front bumper.
- Side and Rear: The car sports clear lens LED taillights, blacked-out structural pillars, multi-spoke aerodynamic alloy wheels, and functional roof rails.
- Charging Infrastructure: Visuals confirm the main charging port is placed on the left rear fender right below the standard fuel filler cap.
Positioning, Cabin Comfort, and Expected Performance

The Starlight 560 measures roughly 4.75 metres in length and sits firmly on a generous 2.81-metre wheelbase setup. This large sizing makes it functionally similar to the existing Hector Plus vehicle. MG will position this three-row model right above the popular Windsor EV. The roomy cabin space easily accommodates seven passengers across three distinct rows.
Inside the cabin, the premium SUV offers a massive 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display supporting fluid wireless smartphone integration. It also provides high-quality leatherette upholstery choices, a two-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, and a crisp digital driver display panel.
The all-electric model will likely pack a reliable 56.7kWh battery unit paired with a single front-mounted electric motor. This setup generates a healthy 134bhp and 200Nm of torque to drive the heavy SUV easily. The configuration promises an impressive driving range of up to 530 kilometres on a single charge. JSW-MG might also introduce a plug-in hybrid sibling utilizing a smaller 20.5kWh battery pack alongside a standard petrol engine.
The continuous on-road testing shows MG's commitment to building a diverse green portfolio in India. Offering both pure electric and plug-in hybrid options will help the brand capture the mass-market premium utility vehicle space easily. The carmaker could officially preview this new product later this month to gauge final customer reactions before defining initial variant pricing.
