MG Hector Tomahawk EV and PHEV Launched Starting at Rs. 19.49 Lakh

JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the MG Hector Tomahawk SUV in India, in both EV and PHEV powertrains. It becomes the first vehicle built on MG’s new ADAPT multi-NEV platform. Under the company's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model, prices start at Rs. 13.99 lakh (+ Rs. 4.90/km battery rental) for the EV. For PHEV, its Rs. 21.79 lakh (+ Rs. 3.20/km battery rental). Standard ex-showroom prices for complete vehicle ownership start at Rs. 19.49 lakh for the EV and Rs. 25.69 lakh for the PHEV.

Technical Specifications, Battery and Range

The Hector Tomahawk EV houses a 69.2 kWh LFP battery paired with a 150 kW (310 Nm) motor, offering an MIDC-certified range of 517 km. The PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 20.5 kWh battery and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). This combination delivers a pure-electric range of over 115 km and a total combined range exceeding 1,100 km.

• Vehicle-to-Home (V2H): India's first V2H capability, enabling the battery to power home appliances during outages.
• Charging Rates: EV supports 90 kW DC fast charging (30% to 80% in ~35 minutes) and 7.4 kW AC home charging.
• Safety Suite: Features high-tensile hot-formed steel structure, Level 2 ADAS (11 features), 6 standard airbags, ESP and Hill Hold Control.
• Battery Warranty: Lifetime battery warranty offered to the first owner for both EV and PHEV models.

Infotainment Tech and Cabin Experience

The interior features a 15.6-inch HD Grand View Display running i-SMART 3.0, integrated with India's first GenAI voice assistant. This smart feature is capable of handling over 30 Hinglish commands. The ecosystem includes a Jio partnership providing access to 18+ apps via the MG App Store and a built-in Starmaanch Karaoke app.

The cabin includes six specialized experience modes: Nap Mode, Pro Pet Mode, Camp Mode, Quiet Mode, Energise Mode and Smoking Mode. EV deliveries commence in September 2026, while PHEV test drives and deliveries begin in November 2026.
