MG Motor India has officially announced a price hike for its entire vehicle lineup, in effect from April 1, 2026. The decision follows a trend of price corrections within the Indian automotive industry, due to rising input costs and economic factors.
The upcoming price revision will affect MG’s diverse portfolio, covering the Astor, Hector, Gloster. Their electric offerings - the ZS EV and Comet EV, are also a part of this price hike. While a model-wise, detailed breakdown is not yet released, the hike might vary depending on the variant and powertrain.
According to industry reports and company indications, this is a necessary response to the pressure of commodity prices and logistics costs. This move aligns MG Motor India with several other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). These OEMs typically implement price corrections at the start of a new financial year.
Effective Date: The new pricing structure will be implemented across all authorized dealerships starting April 1.
The price hikes are seen as an event to occasionally dampen short-term demand. However, MG’s strong emphasis on the electric transition (bolstered by the Comet and ZS EV) suggests long-term sustainability prioritisation. Prospective buyers are advised to finalize pending purchases within the current window to avoid the additional financial outlay.
