Hyundai Venue Becomes Costlier by up to Rs 20,000
Google News

Hyundai Motor India has announced a price revision for its popular compact SUV, the Venue. Several mid-tier variants across petrol and diesel powertrains have seen an upward adjustment. Despite this hike, the overall prices of Hyundai Venue still hang between Rs. 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.51 lakh. The most significant increase affects the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine line-up.
Variant-Wise Price Adjustments
The price hike is not uniform across the Venue’s extensive portfolio. The 1.2-litre petrol HX5 MT variant has witnessed the steepest climb of Rs 20,000. In contrast, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol range sees more moderate increases ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,000. This specifically targets the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) trims.
For diesel enthusiasts, the hike is consistent at Rs 8,000 across most manual and entry-level automatic trims. Notably, the recently introduced diesel automatic HX8 and the range-topping HX10 remain at their previous price points.

Powertrain and Segment Positioning
Despite the price fluctuations, the mechanical specifications of the Hyundai Venue remain unchanged. The vehicle continues to offer three engine options:
- 1.2L Petrol: Delivering 88hp and 114Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual.
- 1.0L Turbo-Petrol: Producing 120hp and 172Nm, available with manual or 7-speed DCT.
- 1.5L Diesel: Generating 116hp and 250Nm of torque.
The price hike arrives at a time when competition in the compact SUV segment is intensifying. Also, the main rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Kia Sonet are also undergoing price corrections.
By excluding the N Line and the HX2 petrol variants from the hike, Hyundai maintains a competitive edge. This is done by balancing both the budget and premium ends of the spectrum. Potential buyers should note that these are ex-showroom prices, and on-road costs will vary by region.
