Audi SQ8 Getting Launched in India on March 17

On March 17, 2026, Audi India announced the release of Audi SQ8, a performance-based variant of SUV model Audi Q8. This new variant will fill the gap between the regular Q8 and the range-topping RS Q8. This expensive SQ8 will be imported in India through Completely Built Unit (CBU), while considering daily usability and advanced design.

Mechanical Specifications and Performance

The Audi SQ8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. With this, the engine has been optimized to provide a balanced 500 bhp and 770 Nm of peak torque. The power is delivered to all four wheels using the Quattro all-wheel-drive and 8-speed transmission system.

The SUV can attain an acceleration of 0-100 kmph in merely 4.1 seconds, claimed by the manufacturer. It can also reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. To manage this power, the SQ8 features adaptive air suspension, which automatically varies ride heights and stiffness as per drive mode.

Exterior & Interior Features

The SQ8 differs from the standard model in a few of the S-specific design clues. The outside has an aggressive Singleframe grille with matte silver frame and an updated rear bumper with quad exhaust tips. It is normally mounted on 21 inch or optional 22 inch alloy wheels.

To give a more sporty feel with the digital-first look, the interior is loaded with:

  • Seating: S-line sport seat with leather and Alcantara upholstered seat and contrast stitching.
  • Technology: Audi Virtual cockpit plus (12.3-inch), 10.1-inch primary infotainment display, 8.6-inch climate control display.
  • Comfort: Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system, panoramic sunroof and four-zone climate control.
  • Safety: Multiple airbags, 360-degree camera, an ADAS package with adaptive cruise control and park assist.

The introduction of SQ8 caters to the buyers who want a V8 performance, without the intense tuning of RS Q8. Having a price range of Rs. 1.6 crore to Rs. 1.9 crore (ex-showroom). It will be in direct competition with Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe and the Porsche Cayenne.
