Next-Gen Tata Nexon Interiors Leaked Ahead of Expected 2027 Launch
Google News

The upcoming next-generation Tata Nexon (internally codenamed Garud) has been spotted during testing, revealing the glimpse of its interior setup. Unlike the previous updates that functioned as major facelifts on the original 2017 platform, this upcoming iteration represents a structural generational change. This will be through a revised body silhouette and upgraded cabin features.
Leaked Interior Observations and Expected Tech
Spy shots of the early-stage test prototype of this Tata Car show a partially stripped-down dashboard setup undergoing data logging. The test mule retains several carryover components from the current Nexon, like the two-spoke steering wheel, touchscreen layout and six-speed manual gear shifter. But, some areas may get updates. The key mechanical updates indicate a broader technology overhaul for the final production vehicle.
Key cabin and interior highlights spotted or expected on the next-gen model include:
- Electronic Parking Brake (EPB): Featured on the ICE test mule, indicating an upgrade from the traditional handbrake setup on lower variants.
- Upright Roofline and C-Pillar Structure: A straighter, boxier rear profile designed to increase rear-passenger headroom compared to the current coupe-like roofline.
- Advanced Tech Integration: Expected to borrow higher-tier features from larger Tata models, such as digital IRVMs, QLED infotainment screens, and expanded ADAS functionality.
Powertrains and Structural Overhaul
The next-gen Nexon is expected to continue utilizing Tata’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine alongside CNG options. While the future of the 1.5-litre diesel remains uncertain due to tightening emission regulations. An EV version based on the updated structural platform will also follow separately.
The next-generation Tata Nexon is expected to make its official debut in 2027. It might compete against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
While the Nexon competes in the compact SUV space, buyers considering a step up in size can also check how the Honda Elevate compares against its mid-size rivals.
