Maruti Suzuki Records 2.16 Lakh Sales in August

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has reported its sales performance for August 2026, recording strong growth compared with the same month last year. The company sold a combined 216,113 units across domestic passenger vehicle sales, sales to other OEMs and exports during the month. The performance was supported by higher passenger vehicle volumes, while exports and sales to other OEMs declined on a year-on-year basis. Maruti Suzuki also crossed the 1 million-unit milestone in total sales within the first five months of FY 2026-27. 

August Records Higher Sales Volumes

Maruti Suzuki recorded 176,971 domestic passenger vehicle sales in August 2026, up from 131,278 units in August 2025. This represents a 34.81% YoY increase, with the passenger vehicle segment contributing significantly to the company's overall growth. Sales to other OEMs stood at 5,298 units, down 47.52% from 10,095 units a year earlier.

Exports also declined during the month, falling from 36,538 units to 33,844 units, a 7.37% YoY reduction. Despite these declines, total sales across the three categories increased from 177,911 units to 216,113 units, resulting in 21.47% YoY growth.

Maruti Suzuki Crosses 1 Million Sales in Five Months

Maruti Suzuki's cumulative sales for April-August FY 2026-27 reached 1,126,759 units, compared with 874,994 units during the corresponding period of FY 2025-26. This marks a 28.77% increase in cumulative sales over the previous financial year.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales contributed 898,402 units during the five-month period, registering 35.59% YoY growth. Exports also grew by 14.15%, reaching 188,636 units, while sales to other OEMs declined by 15.69%.

Utility Vehicle Range Supports Domestic Performance

The utility vehicle range continues to be an important part of Maruti Suzuki’s passenger vehicle portfolio, with models such as the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Ertiga and XL6. The company also offers the e Vitara and Invicto, giving buyers a mix of petrol, hybrid and electric options across different body styles. This broad portfolio allows Maruti Suzuki to address multiple segments of the Indian passenger vehicle market.
