Volkswagen India has quietly updated the Virtus sedan lineup while enthusiasts wait for the brand’s upcoming Tayron SUV. Instead of introducing a facelift, the company has reshuffled variants and revised prices across the Virtus range. As a result, buyers will now notice both price drops and price hikes depending on the variant they choose.
The most notable change is the price reduction on two variants. The entry-level Comfortline 1.0 MT has become more affordable with a price cut of Rs. 70,201. In addition, the Topline Chrome 1.0 AT has received a small reduction of Rs. 3,155. These cuts may attract new buyers looking to enter the Volkswagen family at a lower cost. However, the rest of the range has seen price increases.

With these revisions in place, the Volkswagen Virtus is now priced between Rs. 10.50 lakh and Rs. 19 lakh (ex-showroom).
Along with price changes, Volkswagen has also trimmed the variant list. The GT Plus Chrome 1.5 MT and GT Plus Sport 1.5 MT have been removed from the lineup. Perhaps this decision was taken to simplify choices and focus on variants that see stronger demand. Buyers who prefer the 1.5-litre engine can still opt for the DSG automatic versions, which remain on sale.
In addition, the updated lineup aims to offer a clearer distinction between value-focused and feature-rich trims. This could make it easier for customers to select a variant based on their budget and needs.
