Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is set to launch its first fully electric cars in India by 2026. Until now, all JLR models in India run on petrol or diesel. However, the Range Rover Electric and the Jaguar Electric 4 door GT will bring the brand into the luxury electric segment.
The Range Rover Electric is expected to launch in the first half of 2026. It will feature a 118kWh NMC battery with dual motors producing 550hp and 850Nm of torque. An 800V system will allow charging up to 350kW, and the targeted WLTP range is 530km.
The electric system will not reduce interior space, keeping the cabin and cargo area roomy. Both standard and long wheelbase versions are planned. Special editions like the Black Edition and SV Ultra will also be offered. The Range Rover Sport SV will get its own editions: the Black Edition and Carbon Edition. The expected price is around Rs 3 crore, with a launch likely in the second half of 2026.
Jaguar is developing its first electric 4 door GT, expected in India in the second half of 2026. Built on the JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture) platform, it will be produced in Solihull, UK. Reports suggest a range of over 700km and around 580 hp.
The design draws from the Type 00 concept, featuring a long flat bonnet, sloping roofline, and short rear deck for a classic 4 door GT look. Spy photos show a low and elegant stance.
These launches signal JLR’s entry into India’s electric luxury market. The Range Rover Electric will attract buyers looking for off road capability and comfort, while the Jaguar Electric GT will appeal to those seeking a stylish long range sedan. In addition, both cars will offer fast charging, modern technology, and spacious, comfortable interiors.
