Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has expanded the Rumion MPV lineup with the introduction of a new entry-level "E" variant. Priced at Rs. 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom), this new grade replaces the S variant in the vehicle's portfolio. The vehicle is available only in petrol manual powertrain option. The move is aimed at lowering the entry barrier for the mid-size MPV segment.
The Rumion E is powered exclusively by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This powertrain delivers 102bhp and 139Nm of torque, paired solely with a five-speed manual transmission. Unlike higher trims, this base version does not offer a six-speed torque converter automatic or a CNG powertrain option.
This new trim is approximately Rs. 95,500 less than the S variant. To achieve this low price, several convenience and aesthetic features have been omitted. However, essential safety equipment remains standard across the range.
Key differences between the E and the S variant include:
The E variant is positioned to compete with top brands like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Gravite and Renault Triber. By maintaining high safety standards with six airbags while stripping back non-essential electronics, Toyota aims to capture a wider audience.
