After months of road testing and spy shots, Tata Motors has finally teased the facelifted Punch, confirming its official launch date as January 13, 2026. The entry-level SUV is set to receive notable design updates, new features, and possibly an expanded powertrain lineup. Tata aims to keep the Punch fresh and competitive in a fast-growing segment.
The first official teaser gives a clear look at the changes made to Punch’s exterior. Up front, the SUV now features a slimmer grille paired with new LED daytime running lights. In addition, Tata has introduced a vertically stacked headlamp setup, similar to what we have seen on the Punch EV. This change gives the car a sharper and more modern look.
Lower down, a larger air intake and a stronger-looking silver skid plate add to its rugged stance. Moving to the side, the Punch facelift rides on newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels, which further enhance its visual appeal. At the rear, Tata has added a connected LED taillamp strip with a smoked finish, much like the Altroz. The teaser car also appears in a fresh blue shade, hinting at an updated colour range.
Although Tata has not shared the full feature list yet, earlier test mule images suggest major cabin upgrades. Perhaps the most interesting addition is a front camera, likely part of a 360-degree camera system. The interior is also expected to get a larger touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a new HVAC panel, and a high-speed Type-C charging port.
However, comfort features such as an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a height-adjustable driver seat are likely to continue. On the safety side, Tata may offer six airbags, ESC, hill hold assist, TPMS, and hill descent control.
Mechanically, the standard Punch facelift is expected to retain the familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine, along with the i-CNG option. However, recent teasers also hint at a new turbo-petrol variant, possibly using the Altroz Racer’s engine, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This could sit at the top of the lineup.
In terms of pricing, the Punch facelift is expected to start at around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rival cars like the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Ignis, Citroen C3, and Nissan Magnite.
