Tata Motors is preparing to launch turbo-petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari in the Indian market. The updated SUVs were recently unveiled, and the company has already shared detailed walkaround videos and initial reviews. Tata aims to offer more choices to buyers who prefer petrol-powered SUVs.
Tata Safari Gets a New Ultra Variant
Along with the new petrol engine, the Tata Safari also receives a new Ultra variant. This variant is positioned within the Accomplished trim lineup. It brings several new features and focuses on improving comfort, safety, and technology. In addition, many of these features are inspired by the Harrier EV, which gives the Safari a more modern feel.
More Features and Improved Cabin Experience
The updated Safari comes with a larger Harman infotainment touchscreen. It uses Samsung Neo QLED technology for better display quality. Tata has also added a Level 2 ADAS system with 22 safety features. However, safety is not the only focus this time.
The SUV now gets a digital inside rear-view mirror called VisionEX. It includes a built-in dash camera and supports Dolby Atmos audio. In addition, features like a sliding armrest, camera washer, built-in navigation with Alexa, and memory function for the ORVMs have been added. The interior also looks fresher with a new Oyster White and Gold color theme.
New Turbo-Petrol Engine Details
The petrol Safari gets a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol Hyperion engine. This engine was recently introduced in the Sierra. Unlike the Sierra, the Safari petrol will be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options. This gives buyers more flexibility.
With these updates, the Tata Safari petrol becomes more competitive. It will take on rivals such as the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus. Overall, Tata Motors is clearly focusing on offering better features and more choices to attract buyers.
