First Model Under Nissan’s Revitalised Product Strategy for India
Nissan Motor India has announced the launch of its new 7-seater B-MPV, Gravite, scheduled for early 2026. This model will be the first product under the company’s renewed product strategy for the Indian market. The Gravite will be manufactured locally at Renault’s Chennai facility, highlighting Nissan’s continued focus on local production and long-term growth in India.
Key Highlights of Nissan’s India Product Roadmap
The launch of the Gravite marks the beginning of a multi-model product offensive planned specifically for Indian customers.
Three New Models Planned
As part of its roadmap announced in July 2024, Nissan will introduce three new vehicles. The Gravite will arrive in early 2026, followed by the Tekton SUV in mid-2026, and a 7-seater C-SUV in early 2027.
Dealer Network Expansion
To support these upcoming launches, Nissan is expanding its dealership network across Tier I and Tier II cities. This move aims to improve customer reach, sales support, and after-sales service across the country.
Design Philosophy and Positioning of the Nissan Gravite
The name Gravite is derived from the word gravity. It reflects values such as balance, stability, and attraction. Nissan positions the Gravite as a family-focused MPV, designed to suit the practical needs of Indian households.
Practical and Flexible Interior
The MPV will offer modular seating layouts along with smart storage options. These features will allow easy adjustment between passenger comfort and cargo space, making it suitable for daily use and long journeys.
Exterior Design and Styling Elements
The Nissan Gravite follows the brand’s global design language.
Signature Nissan Design
The MPV features Nissan’s C-shaped front grille, along with hood branding and rear-door badging. The same C-shaped design element is repeated at the rear, giving the vehicle a cohesive look.
Strong Road Presence
The design focuses on horizontal proportions and a muscular stance, which helps the Gravite stand out while maintaining a balanced and premium appearance.
