In a significant shift within the compact MPV segment, the newly launched Nissan Gravite has outperformed its platform-sibling, the Renault Triber. This all happened in its first full month of sales. This surge has catapulted the Gravite to the top of Nissan India’s sales charts, signaling a strong market reception.
Launched in mid-February 2026, the Nissan Gravite recorded 2,375 units in March 2026. This performance allowed it to surpass the Renault Triber, posting 2,011 units during the same period (lead of 364 units). The Gravite’s success is a pivotal moment for Nissan, as the model accounts for 54 percent of total monthly wholesales.
Notably, the Gravite also overtook the Magnite compact SUV within Nissan’s own portfolio, making it the brand's highest-selling model. Its aggressive introductory pricing, approximately Rs. 11,000 lower than the Triber, is the primary factor for this early momentum.

The Nissan Gravite’s initial triumph over the Renault Triber underscores the impact of competitive pricing and fresh branding. By capturing over half of Nissan’s monthly volume, the Gravite has effectively ended the brand's long-standing reliance on a single-model strategy.
