Toyota has filed a design patent for a new front bumper, hinting at an upcoming update for the Innova Hycross. Launched in 2022, the model is set to receive a facelift where the patented design closely matches recent test mules spotted. These spy tests, undergoing real-world evaluations in India and this rendered design hints toward a very probable facelift launching soon.

Exterior Design Changes

The design patent highlights a bolder front fascia heavily inspired by the Toyota Hilux pickup. Key visual changes include:

• A squarer front grille featuring diamond-shaped air inlets for a muscular look.
• Revised front bumper housing diamond-shaped side elements designed to hold fog lamps.
• Slimmer, updated projector headlight clusters observed on recent road-test mules.
• Tweaked LED graphics within the rear taillight assemblies.

The overall profile and rear bumper design remain largely identical to the current MPV. Toyota may introduce updated alloy wheel designs for the production model.

Interior Expectations and Mechanics

Cabin details remain unconfirmed, but spy shots indicate the overall layout will stay familiar. The dashboard retains the free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver's display. Toyota will likely introduce updated trim materials, new upholstery patterns, and additional equipment to keep the cabin competitive.

Mechanically, the facelifted Innova Hycross will retain its existing powertrain options:

• Naturally Aspirated Petrol: A 173 hp, 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT gearbox.
• Strong Hybrid: A 184 hp, 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain mated to an e-CVT setup.

The current Toyota Innova Hycross sells between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 31.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift model will carry a slight price premium over the outgoing version.
