Mahindra BE 6 SPORTeQ, XEV 9S And XEV 9e Get BaaS: Check New Prices

Mahindra’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) programme now covers the company’s entire Electric Origin SUV range in India. The company now offers BaaS on the BE 6 SPORTeQ, XEV 9S and XEV 9e.

The revised entry prices start at Rs 11.45 lakh under the programme. Mahindra says the move aims to lower the upfront cost of buying its electric SUVs. The BaaS option is available across all variants of these three models.

Mahindra EV BaaS Prices

The BE 6 SPORTeQ becomes the entry point into Mahindra's wider BaaS programme.

• BE 6 SPORTeQ: Rs 11.45 lakh
• XEV 9S: Rs 12.65 lakh
• XEV 9e: Rs 13.90 lakh

These prices cover the vehicle component under the BaaS structure. The battery is financed separately through a second loan. The same effective battery usage cost of Rs 3.75 per km applies to all three SUVs. Mahindra's advertised battery EMI starts at Rs 6,975.

How BaaS Works

Under the BaaS model, customers take separate loans for the vehicle and battery. This dual loan structure reduces the amount required upfront for the SUV.

The quoted Rs 3.75 per km figure is based on 60 km of daily usage. It also assumes a specified down payment.

However, the battery EMI can vary depending on several factors:

• Battery size
• Down payment
• Loan tenure
• Financing terms

The BaaS battery arrangement is not a pay per use system. It is linked to a fixed battery EMI structure.

What the BaaS Price Excludes?

The advertised prices of Mahindra cars do not represent the complete ownership cost. Several expenses remain separate from the quoted BaaS pricing. Charging, maintenance and repair costs are excluded. Charger costs, insurance, road tax, TCS and applicable statutory charges are also additional.

Finance approval remains subject to the respective financing partner's terms. Final loan approval is also at the financier's discretion.

What EV Buyers Should Know?

The expansion gives buyers another way to reduce the initial purchase outlay for Mahindra's electric SUVs. It also brings the larger XEV 9S and XEV 9e into the same structure.

These models face rivals such as the Tata Harrier EV, Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta Electric in India’s electric SUV market.
