Nissan Confirms Feb 17 Debut for Gravite MPV

Nissan Gravite launch date has been preponed from 25 Feb to now 17 Feb! This Nissan MVP is thought to be a tough counterpart of Renault Triber, a long considered optimal choice in 7-seater compact MVP category. The Japanese manufacturer promises to launch two more models this year.
Unlike Triber’s simple features, Gravite gives a more ‘SUV inspired’ characteristics, featuring a sculpted bonnet with prominent "GRAVITE" lettering.
How This “Triber Twin” Get a Premium Identity?
The Gravite is well known to be the badge-engineered sibling of the popular Renault Triber, built on the shared CMF-A+ modular platform. However, Nissan has reportedly invested significantly in differentiating the Gravite from its French counterpart to avoid the "clone" label often associated with alliance products.
Lets count on the features from which Nissan Gravite gets its premium look:
- Advanced LED Illumination - This Nissan car features Bi-Projector LED Headlamps, unlike the halogen ones seen in its rivals. These headlamps paired with L-shaped LED DRLs, give Gravite an aggressive face.
- 360-Degree Around View Monitor - This Nissan compact MVP also provides a complete 360-degree view, ensuring you’re always driving safe.
- Digital Cockpit Experience - The driver gets a cool experience with a 7-inch TFT Advanced Drive-Assist Display. You’re no longer using those analogue dials, instead the gamified graphics will elevate your driver’s feel.
- Modern Convenience Suite - The utility list continues on with installed wireless charging, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and dedicated ambient mood lighting, ensuring the cabin feels current and connected.
Similarities with Renault Triber
The Nissan Triber has several features that are common with Renault Triber, that is why it is considered its twin. Those features include:
- Both are 7-seater with the exact same wheelbase (2,636 mm) and roughly the same length (<4m) to qualify for tax benefits.
- Both use the 1.0L Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine delivering approximately 72 PS power and a 96 Nm torque, while transmissions are handled by 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
- Both feature modular seating, with the third row being detachable and can be completely removed-off to create a larger, 625L boot.
- Stepped-roof design allows both models to feature dedicated AC vents for the 2nd and 3rd rows, a critical feature for a 7-seater.
- Suspension and breaking in both remains largely the same.
It is a golden chance for the buyers looking for a 7-seater option in an affordable range with maximum benefits. Available in 6 Lakh range, it will be interesting to see how the market responds.
