Mercedes-Benz India has kicked off its 2026 journey with two special launches that highlight luxury, technology, and growing demand in the premium segment. The brand has introduced the EQS SUV Celebration Edition and the Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration Edition. Both models aim to attract buyers who want exclusivity along with modern features. In addition, these launches show Mercedes-Benz’s strong focus on expanding its high-end portfolio in India.
EQS SUV Celebration Edition Brings Electric Luxury to the Spotlight
The EQS SUV Celebration Edition arrives as a special version of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship electric SUV. It is available in both five-seater and seven-seater layouts. The EQS SUV 450 five-seater is priced at Rs 1.34 crore, while the seven-seater EQS SUV 580 costs Rs 1.48 crore. Perhaps the biggest highlight is that both versions come with AMG Line styling and standard rear-seat ventilation, adding to comfort and sportiness.
The electric SUV continues with the same powerful setup. It uses a dual-motor system paired with a large 122 kWh battery. The EQS 450 produces 265 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the EQS 580 delivers a stronger 536 bhp and 858 Nm. This ensures smooth and quick performance, whether driving in the city or on highways.
On the outside, the Celebration Edition stands out with a gloss black closed grille, sharp matrix LED headlamps, AMG Line design elements, and large 21-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin feels modern and tech-focused. It gets three large screens, ambient lighting, wireless charging, multi-zone climate control, and a head-up display. In addition, rear passengers enjoy powered seat adjustment and seat ventilation as standard, which makes long drives more relaxing.
Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration Edition Raises the Luxury Bar
Alongside the EQS SUV, Mercedes-Benz has also launched the Maybach GLS Celebration Edition in India. This luxury car is priced at Rs 4.10 crore and celebrates the success of the GLS range in the country.
However, what makes this launch even more special is that Mercedes-Benz will now locally produce the GLS at its Pune plant. India becomes the first market outside the United States to assemble this model, which may help meet growing demand faster.
The Maybach GLS focuses on ultimate rear-seat comfort. It offers two individual rear seats with a long centre console, an integrated tablet, folding tables, and even a refrigerated compartment. It comes with a 4.0-litre V8 engine that produces 550 bhp and 770 Nm. Moreover, this Mercedes car can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just under five seconds.
In addition, it features premium Nappa leather, a high-end Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos, ambient lighting, and multi-contour massage seats. There are also large 23-inch wheels and dual-tone paint complete the luxury look.
