Updated Design with a Modern Touch
At first glance, the Mahindra XUV 7XO looks sharper and more premium than before. The front now gets a new grille with vertical chrome elements, projector headlamps, and a single-strip LED DRL. In addition, the bumpers have been reworked for a bolder stance. At the rear, the connected LED taillamps, borrowed from Mahindra’s electric concepts, add a fresh and modern appeal. New alloy wheel designs and updated paint options complete the look.
More Tech and Comfort Inside
Step inside, and things become more noticeable. The first thing that stands out is the dash layout featuring not two but three screens. That immediately lends the cabin an avant-garde look. Starting with the top variant of the AX7L, there is an all-new interior scheme, two-spoke steering, and luxury elements everywhere. Though the decision to get rid of physical climate control buttons might not completely please everyone.
Further, the SUV is equipped with a Harman Kardon music system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, powered driver seats with boss mode, rear sun blinds, and rear entertainment screens. Mahindra has also launched the country’s first Alexa and ChatGPT connectivity for the vehicle, which makes the XUV 7XO one of the most intelligent SUV offerings available.
Same Powerful Engines, Proven Performance
Mahindra has retained the trusted engines. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol produces around 200 hp and 380 Nm, while the 2.2-litre diesel delivers up to 185 hp and 450 Nm. Both engines are available with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. However, fuel efficiency may be a concern with the petrol engine in city driving. Perhaps the diesel remains the better choice for long-distance users, especially with the optional AWD setup.
Safety and Rivals
On the safety front, the Mahindra XUV 7XO continues to impress with 7 airbags, Level-2 ADAS, ESC, ABS with EBD, and a strong body structure. It is expected to score well in Bharat NCAP, just like its predecessor.
The SUV takes on rivals such as the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar. With its updated design and feature list, Mahindra seems confident of staying ahead.
