Mahindra & Mahindra has reshaped its sales and marketing structure in the automotive division. The company has named Aman Malik as National Sales Head, while Dinesh Kurup will now handle sales planning. This change comes after Baneswar Banerjee moved to the group’s financial services arm.
Instead of replacing Banerjee with one person, Mahindra has divided the role into two clear parts. This step separates sales execution from planning and support functions. As a result, teams can now focus better on their core responsibilities.
Aman Malik takes charge as Senior General Manager and National Sales Head. He will manage sales operations across India, and all zonal heads will report to him. His main focus will remain on improving sales numbers and strengthening execution on the ground.
In addition, Malik brings more than 25 years of experience. He has spent over two decades in Mahindra’s farm division and has handled multiple regions. Most recently, he served as Zonal Head and achieved strong growth and record volumes.
At the same time, Dinesh Kurup will lead sales planning and support functions. His role includes planning, logistics, and channel finance. This structure creates a more organised backend system.
Perhaps this move will help improve coordination between demand and supply. It can also support smoother operations across the sales network.
Both Malik and Kurup will report to Pavan Kumar, who oversees sales, customer care, and customer experience. Under his leadership, Mahindra has already combined key commercial functions into one system.
However, the changes also extend to the EV business. Deepak Sinha will now have dotted-line reporting to Pavan Kumar. At the same time, he will continue to report to Reeti Nageshri for strategy and operations. This step brings the EV division closer to the main sales structure.
In addition, Mahindra has strengthened its team with leaders like Charu Gulati, who joined earlier from Tata Motors. The company has also aligned customer experience more closely with field teams. This helps collect faster feedback and improve service quality.
The restructuring comes at a time when automakers are adjusting their strategies due to changing demand and rising competition. Mahindra aims to improve speed, coordination, and overall sales performance with this new setup.
