Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition 999 Units Sold Out in 7 Minutes

Mahindra & Mahindra has once again demonstrated the immense pull of its "Born Electric" (BE) lineup. Like its first batch, the second batch of the BE 6 Batman Edition sold out in record time. All 999 units allocated for this round were booked within just seven minutes of the window opening. This follows the unprecedented success of the first batch, which vanished in just over two minutes last year.
Increased Demand Despite Premium Price
Despite a price hike of Rs 70,000 over the previous version, the BE 6 Batman Edition witnessed a massive response. Now the current ex-showroom price of the Baman Edition is Rs. 28.49 lakh. The premium of Rs 1.59 lakh over the top-spec BE 6 trim didn’t deviate customers wanting the "Dark Knight" aesthetics.
The rapid sell-out is attributed to several exclusive features that distinguish the Batman Edition from the standard crossover:
- Exclusive Visuals: A unique "Stellar Black" matte paint finish paired with dark-themed 18-inch alloy wheels.
- Themed Interior: A cabin finished in "Gotham Grey" with Batman-themed inserts on the headrests and dashboard.
- Digital Experience: Custom "Bat-Signal" puddle lamps and a unique UI/UX for the twin 12.3-inch screens featuring Batman-inspired startup animations and soundscapes.
- Performance: Mechanically, it remains identical to the standard BE 6, featuring a 79kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted motor producing 286hp, delivering an ARAI-certified range of 602km.
For Mahindra, the success of the Batman Edition serves as a validation of its premium EV strategy and the BE platform's appeal. Made with the collaboration of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP), this product continues to move its audiences.
