Table of Content
Mahindra Vision S has been spotted again in India, revealing new rear design details and more. The latest test vehicle gets vertical tail lamps and chunky tyres. These design elements create a visual link with the Scorpio family.
Mahindra is developing the Vision S as a compact SUV for the sub 4 metre segment. The production version is expected to arrive around August 2027.
Mahindra Vision S Design Details

The latest Mahindra Vision S test vehicle gets slim tail lamps mounted on the rear pillars. The lamps feature stacked horizontal red lighting elements. This layout looks similar to the lighting design used on the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N. However, the individual light elements are different.
Separate rectangular lights are also visible lower down near the spare wheel. Their exact function is not clear from the spy images.
The test vehicle also features a rear wiper and a bumper mounted registration plate. These details suggest that the design is moving closer to the production version.
Scorpio Connection Explained
The new rear design has led to speculation about a possible Scorpio connection. The production SUV could potentially become a smaller member of the Scorpio family. Mahindra has not confirmed the production name yet. The Scorpio Sport name has been speculated earlier, but there is no official confirmation.
If positioned as a sub 4 metre Scorpio, it could become the smallest model carrying the nameplate. This could help Mahindra target a wider group of compact SUV buyers. The segment already includes models such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Tyres And Suspension

The spare wheel appears to carry a 235/70 R16 tyre marking. This suggests a wide tyre with a tall sidewall mounted on a 16 inch wheel. A taller sidewall can provide additional cushioning over broken roads. However, production tyre sizes could vary between different variants.
Spy images also show the rear suspension links beneath the vehicle. Their layout appears consistent with an independent rear suspension setup. However, the images do not provide enough detail to confirm the final suspension arrangement.
Interior, Platform And Launch
Earlier spy shots showed a cabin with two horizontal screens and vertical air conditioning vents. An electronic parking brake was also visible. The production model is expected to use Mahindra's NU_IQ architecture, and it will target the sub 4 metre SUV segment.
Petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains have also been discussed for the platform. However, Mahindra has not confirmed the engine or drivetrain options for this SUV.
Car Junction Insights
The latest spy shots suggest that Mahindra is giving the Vision S a strong SUV identity. Its compact size could make it relevant for buyers wanting a smaller family SUV with a tougher design.
Mahindra’s upcoming Vision S is already turning heads with its Scorpio-like design, check out the XUV 3XO REVX Edge variant details to see what else the brand has recently introduced.
