Kia Syros Gets New HTK (EX) Trim with Premium Features at Lower Price
Google News

Kia has expanded the Syros compact SUV line-up with the introduction of a new mid-spec HTK (EX) trim. The new variant is priced at Rs 9.89 lakh for the turbo-petrol version and Rs 10.64 lakh for the diesel. Kia aims to offer more premium features at a lower price point, which makes the Syros an even stronger option in the highly competitive sub-4m SUV segment.
Interestingly, the HTK (EX) trim was launched on the same day as the Carens Clavis HTE (EX), which shows Kia’s growing focus on value-rich variants. The new trim sits third from the base model and brings several features that were earlier available only in higher variants.
New Trim Expands Syros Line-Up
With the arrival of HTK (EX), the Kia Syros range now includes seven trims:
HTK
- HTK (O)
- HTK (EX)
- HTK+
- HTX
- HTX+
- HTX+ (O)
The prices now start at Rs 8.67 lakh and go up to Rs 15.94 lakh. The HTK (EX) variant is available with two engine choices. Buyers can opt for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 120hp or the 1.5-litre diesel engine delivering 116hp.
However, both engines are offered only with a manual gearbox. Therefore, customers get flexible engine options while still enjoying a reasonable entry price for a well-equipped trim.
Premium Exterior Features at a Lower Cost
One of the biggest highlights of the HTK (EX) trim is the addition of full LED exterior lighting. It now offers LED headlights, LED daytime running lamps, and LED taillights. Earlier, these features were available only from the higher HTX variant. However, the new trim brings them at a price that is over Rs 2 lakh lower, which is a big advantage for budget-focused buyers.
In addition, the turbo-petrol HTK (EX) variant gets stylish 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The diesel version retains the same wheel design as the HTK (O) trim. Perhaps this mix helps Kia maintain cost balance while still offering visual appeal.
Comfort, Tech, and Safety
Inside the cabin, the HTK (EX) trim comes with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also offers a semi-digital driver display, six speakers, manual AC with rear vents, and a single-pane sunroof. Other useful additions include a rear parking camera and powered ORVMs with auto-fold and LED indicators.
On the safety front, the trim features six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, hill-start assist, parking sensors at both ends, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and other essential aids. Therefore, it delivers a strong mix of safety and convenience.
