Kia Syros EV Spied Testing in Delhi-NCR
Google News

As it was speculated, Kia is giving test runs for its latest EV model - Kia Syros EV. In the process, it was spotted on the roads of Delhi-NCR, heavily camouflaged under wraps. This sub-4m electric SUV reveals several design tweaks, separating it from its ICE twin and validating the assumption.
What’s New on the Exterior?
While the model draws tall, boxy silhouette design from its twin, Kia Syros, the test mule revealed some differences.
- Aero Optimized Wheels: The test vehicle was seen with a new set of alloy wheels, a common feature to minimize turbulence and maximize range.
- Front-Mounted Charging Port: Unlike the current version, which has a fuel lid at the rear, its charging port is spotted on the front fender. It may likely be equipped with integrated charging indicators.
- EV-Specific Face: Under the wrap, the SUV is expected to feature a closed-off grille and active air vents that open only when the battery pack requires cooling.
Despite the changes, it will retain the vertical headlight setup of the current Syros version.
Performance & Tech: Interior Features
Experts expect that Syros EV will take the mechanical aspects from the Hyundai Inster EV. Detailed specifications are:
- Dual Battery Options - Expect dual battery availability with a 42kWh and 49kWh capacity.
- Premium Dashboard - The model may take along present ICE interior features including 12.3-inch screen and 5-inch HVAC control unit.
- Enhanced Ride Experience - Due to the battery placement, Syros EV is expected to get a firmer suspension setup. This will address the soft-rear suspension issues of the current Syros.
- Fast Charging: The expected EV version can reportedly get charged from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The new EV version of Kia Syros is expected to cost more than what the current version is priced at. Expert suggestions say it may go well over 20 Lakh.
