Recently, Kia Seltos got its second-gen launch and shortly after that it successfully tested its safety features and got five-star ratings. After these developments, Seltos again gets the spotlight due to the addition of two new variants - GTX (O) and X-Line (O). This diversification of its mid-size SUV portfolio is aimed at providing premium optional features that were absent in previous versions.
The new (O) or "Optional" variants aim to bridge the gap between the standard performance trims and the fully-loaded ADAS versions. A significant highlight of this update is the expected return of the Head-Up Display (HUD). While the previous-generation Seltos featured an 8-inch HUD, the current model had omitted this feature at launch.
Additionally, the new variants are expected to integrate a dealer-installed dashcam and an enhanced seat memory function. By introducing these as specific trims, Kia aims to simplify the selection process for consumers seeking luxury tech.
Key expected features for the new trims include:

The expansion of the Seltos range comes at a time when Kia is leveraging its safety credentials. Built on the K3 platform, the SUV remains a benchmark in its segment. This is by offering 24 standard safety features, including six airbags and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
The addition of the new variants is likely a preemptive strike against intensifying competition in the 4.2m – 4.5m SUV segment. This might ensure the Seltos maintains its approximate 15% market share. After their induction, these variants are expected to be positioned at a slight price premium over the current GTX+ and X-Line models. On the other hand, these remain more accessible than the Level 2 ADAS equipped versions.
