Volvo Cars has showcased its flagship EX90 electric SUV at the 2026 Indonesia Motor Show. This unveil provided a detailed preview of the upcoming India-bound model, confirmed for an official Indian market launch in August 2026. This three-row, seven-seater luxury crossover represents the pinnacle of the brand's all-electric lineup. It will join the EX30 and EC40 in Volvo India's growing EV portfolio.
Advanced Powertrain and Battery Capabilities
The EX90 comes equipped with a large 111kWh battery pack paired with a twin-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain configuration. In its highest performance specification, the electric setup generates a combined output of 517hp and 910Nm of peak torque.
- Extended Range: Delivers a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 600km on a single full charge.
- Rapid Fast-Charging: Supports DC fast charging capable of replenishing 10 to 80 percent capacity in under 30 minutes.
- Bi-Directional Tech: Features bi-directional charging capabilities to supply power to external devices or other electric vehicles.
LiDAR Safety Hardware and Cabin Technology
Inside the cabin, the EX90 features a 14.5-inch vertical touchscreen operating on Google built-in software. Audio duties are handled by a premium Bowers & Wilkins sound system featuring Dolby Atmos and headrest-integrated speakers.
Safety equipment is highlighted by Volvo's first integration of LiDAR technology alongside a comprehensive suite of cameras and radar sensors. The roof-mounted LiDAR unit can detect small objects hundreds of metres ahead even at highway speeds and in low-light conditions.
