Volkswagen Taigun Achieves 1 Lakh Cumulative Domestic Sales in India

Volkswagen India’s midsize SUV, the Taigun, has officially crossed the 1,00,000 domestic sales benchmark. Five years after its debut in September 2021 as part of the brand's ambitious India 2.0 strategy, the SUV reached 99,095 units by the end of September 2026. In October 2026, it crossed the landmark showing customer trust in India. Supported by strong overseas demand, the total combined output for the vehicle now stands past 1.5 lakh units.

Since its debut, the Taigun's domestic demand experienced rapid initial expansion followed by natural market stabilization. FY2023 marked the peak of its domestic trajectory, contributing over half of Volkswagen India's overall passenger vehicle sales for that financial year.

The model is built on the localized MQB A0 IN platform alongside its sibling, the Skoda Kushaq (which also crossed 1.04 lakh sales). With this, the Taigun has maintained a strong reputation for structural safety and driving dynamics.
