Škoda Auto Volkswagen India has announced a major leadership change in its Sales, Marketing and Digital division. Jan Bures will complete his assignment in India and will move to a new role at Volkswagen AG from September 2026. At the same time, Piyush Arora, the company's Managing Director and CEO, will take on the additional responsibility of Executive Director for Sales and Marketing. Through this change, the company aims to improve coordination, speed up decision making, and support its future growth plans in India.
Jan Bures Moves to Volkswagen AG, Piyush Arora Takes New Role
Jan Bures has served as the Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Digital at Škoda Auto Volkswagen India. During his tenure, he contributed to the company's growth and helped strengthen its sales and marketing operations. Now, he will take up a new global role at Volkswagen AG from September 2026.
Meanwhile, Piyush Arora will take charge of the Sales and Marketing division in addition to his current role as Managing Director and CEO. As a result, he will lead both the company's overall business and its sales and marketing strategy in India. The company believes this leadership structure will bring better teamwork, faster decisions, and stronger accountability across different functions.
Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Continues to Grow
Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, headquartered in Pune, manages the Indian operations of six brands, including Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Porsche. The company started its journey in India more than 25 years ago at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Today, it operates two manufacturing plants at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Chakan, Pune, with a combined annual production capacity of 3.15 lakh units.
Moreover, the company has exported more than 7.25 lakh vehicles to over 40 countries under its "Made in India for India and the World" strategy. In 2025, it also crossed the milestone of producing 20 lakh vehicles in India.
Focus Remains on Customers and Future Mobility
Škoda Auto Volkswagen India has strengthened localisation through the INDIA 2.0 project and introduced the Group's first sub 4 metre SUV for Indian buyers. In addition, its locally built models, including the Škoda Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Volkswagen Taigun, and Virtus, have together crossed 6 lakh units.
Today, the company serves customers through nearly 700 touchpoints across India and employs more than 4,000 people. Furthermore, it has earned the Top Employer and HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia recognition for three consecutive years.
Going forward, the company will continue to focus on sustainable mobility while expanding both its ICE and BEV portfolio for Indian and global markets.
