Volkswagen has signaled that they are going to come up with a new concept of electric model in their GTI lineup. Transitioning from performance oriented sub-brand to electric, the upcoming concept will be based on ID 2all (electric hatchback). This model will serve as first-ever in electric drivetrain in their GTI (Grand Tour Injection) series.
The ID. Polo GTI is equipped with a 52kWh battery pack that powers a front-axle-mounted electric motor. This setup delivers a maximum output of 226hp and 229Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100kph in 6.8 seconds. ID polo EV shares the same battery specs with the standard Polo EV. But, the GTI’s increased performance results in a slightly lower WLTP-rated range of 424km. To support daily usability, the vehicle features 105kW DC fast charging, capable of a 10-80% charge in 24 minutes.

The ID. Polo GTI is scheduled for a European launch in late 2026. With this the model registers an expected price point of approximately €39,000 (Rs 43 lakh). Volkswagen is positioning the ID. Polo GTI as a direct electric successor to the internal combustion engine (ICE) Polo GTI. This ensures the brand’s performance heritage remains relevant in a zero-emissions market.
