Tata Extends BaaS Option To Entire EV Portfolio

Mumbai, September 28, 2026: TATA.ev has expanded its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering across its entire electric vehicle portfolio in India. The financing option, earlier available on the Tiago EV and Punch EV, is now extended to the Nexon EV, Curvv EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV. This move gives customers another way to finance their EVs while lowering the upfront acquisition cost.

BaaS Now Available Across Tata EV Range 

The table below lists the regular price, BaaS vehicle price and battery cost for each Tata EV. These prices apply to entry trims and specified daily usage assumptions.

Tata Explains How BaaS Works

Under the BaaS model, the vehicle and battery are financed through separate loan accounts, with flexible tenure options available to customers. The battery EMI varies based on factors such as battery capacity, down payment and selected tenure.

TATA.ev has partnered with multiple financiers for the BaaS facility, which remains subject to their approval and applicable terms and conditions. Customers opting for BaaS receive the same product experience, technology and ownership support as those purchasing the EV with the battery included.

Tata Comments On BaaS Expansion 

Speaking about the expansion of BaaS, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, said:

“With the EV acceptance and demand growing many fold in the country, Customers demand choices than ever before, not just in the EVs they buy, but also in how they choose to finance them. As BaaS* becomes an increasingly visible construct in the EV market, we want to ensure that customers evaluating a TATA.ev have complete flexibility to make a fair and transparent comparison. Extending BaaS* across our portfolio gives them precisely that choice.”

He added that customers can either purchase an EV outright with the battery included or choose BaaS to reduce their upfront acquisition cost. He said the company aims to give buyers greater flexibility in choosing a financing option that suits their needs and makes the shift to electric mobility easier.

Extending BaaS across the complete TATA EV range gives buyers another financing route across different EV segments. The lower starting vehicle prices could make the initial purchase cost easier to compare with conventional financing options. However, buyers should consider the separate battery financing cost, usage terms and other ownership expenses before choosing between the two payment structures.
