Tata Tigor Successor Coming Soon: New Aeris To Launch On September 25

Tata Motors will launch the Tata Tigor facelift in India on September 25, 2026, with a major change in its identity. The updated compact sedan will reportedly be called the Tata Aeris, replacing the Tigor nameplate.

Tata has confirmed the launch through a teaser, while reports have revealed several expected design and cabin changes. The new sedan will continue to target buyers seeking a compact car for city use. It will rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze.

Tata Tigor Facelift Gets New Name

The upcoming Tata car will receive more than a routine cosmetic update. Tata is expected to give the sedan a redesigned front fascia, revised bumpers and a new grille.

The teaser shows a fresh purple colour, while reports point to new LED lighting elements. These include LED headlamps, integrated DRLs, fog lamps and redesigned tail lamps.

New alloy wheels are also expected to form part of the exterior update. The familiar compact notchback shape could remain, keeping its practical boot focused design.

Aeris Cabin Could Get More Features

The interior is expected to borrow several updates from the latest Tata Tiago. This could make the cabin more modern and easier to use.

Expected features include:

• 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Fully digital instrument cluster
• Type C charging ports
• Rear AC vents
• 360 degree camera
• Auto folding ORVMs
• Updated AC controls

The automatic variants could also get a rotary drive mode selector instead of the existing lever setup.

Petrol And CNG Options Expected

The Tata Aeris is expected to retain the familiar 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It could continue with both five speed manual and AMT transmissions.

A factory fitted CNG version is also expected. This could appeal to buyers who want lower running costs for regular city commuting.

Price and Rivals

The current Tigor starts below the Rs 6 lakh mark, while the facelift is expected to remain in the compact sedan price bracket. Final prices and more details will be announced at launch.
